HOW MANY TIMES SHOULD YOU FEED YOUR PUP?

Once your puppy has crossed six weeks of age you can start him on puppy food, that is specially formulated to meet the nutritional requirement for your pup’s all round development. Your pup needs to be fed four times a day to get his daily dose of essential nutrients. Large breeds should be fed dry food by 9 to 10 weeks and small breeds by 12 to 13 weeks.

During 3 and 6 months of age you can cut down on the number of feeds from four  to three times a day.Your pup should lose his puppy fat at this stage. If he is still has puppy fat  you should continue to feed him puppy size portions till his body matures.

You can feed your pup twice a day once he has crossed 6 months and you can now make a switch over from puppy food to adult food. Small breeds can be hooked on to this type of food from 7 to 9 months and larger breeds from 12 to 14 months of age. Although it would be better if larger breeds are fed puppy food till they reach 2 years of age.
